Using Laughter to Improve Well-being 

The workshop was organized by the Academy’s Task Force on Well-being on 27 June 2025 and featured Dr. Carrie Horwitch, an internal medicine physician with over 30 years of experience. She is renowned for her expertise in bringing the healing power of laughter to enhance physical and mental well-being.

The workshop fostered a warm and engaging atmosphere, beginning with a relaxed cocktail reception that set the tone for the evening. Dr. Horwitch led participants through laughter exercises and shared insightful case studies demonstrating the use of humor and laughter in medical settings. Her presentation highlighted practical strategies for incorporating laughter into healthcare to enhance patient care and overall wellness. Participants enjoyed the workshop and found it both informative and inspiring.
